Brief: Helping the elderly
It's common knowledge young people don’t have time for the elderly. But because of social distancing and self isolation, youngster now have a lot of time on their hands.
With so much time on your hands, now is the perfect time to make a phone pal and check up on the elderly in order to combat:
We can use the lock down time as an opportunity to bridge generational gaps and encourage human connections.
Step 1: SMS check-in, your name and your age to a USSD code. Step 2: A follow up SMS with the Ts&Cs and a prompt to sms ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to agree or disagree to the Ts&Cs respectively. Step 3: If you say no... No further comms will follow but if you say yes; Step 4: you will receive the number, name, age of your pal as well as the right time to call them. Step 5: We will also send you daily check in ice-breakers/quotes to encourage daily check-ins. Example: How are you doing. How are you feeling... What did you eat today? How's your day going? What did you do today? How's the weather? Step 6: This is where the magic happens and the young phone pal calls to check-in.
